Trip Details
- I was visiting Nice and did a day trip to Eze and Monaco
- Part of a 3 day trip in the French Riviera
- Part of a 5 month trip around the world
Trip Itinerary
- Bus to Eze
- 2 hours in Eze
- Bus to Monaco
- 3-5 hours in Monaco
- Bus back to Nice
Eze
- Eze is a super artsy town built into the side of a hill so be prepared to walk uphill (but don’t worry, it isn’t horrible at all)
- There are TONS of tiny shops with art and jewelry and local artists and designers
- There are also some cafes and restaurants – I didn’t eat at any but the looked beautiful
- It is a very small town so you don’t need much time, but definitely don’t skip it
Monaco: To Do & See
- To be honest, everything here is a zillion dollars. Every time I took a step, I felt like I was going to be charged (just kidding- but really, everything is ridiculously expensive). For example, I got a black coffee that cost me $17 – CRAZY
- Because of $$, I pretty much only walked around and didn’t DO anything.
- I walked into the Monte Carlo, but you can only go in the lobby unless you have appropriate attire to go into the casino. (There are also other places around Monaco that have dress codes to check before you go.)
- Behind the Monte Carlo are amazing yachts and gardens
- Hang out the the Monte Carlo plaza and just watch some of the fancy cars drive in and out — There are all the designer stores you can imagine in this area
- South of the Monte Carlo along the water (about a 20-30 minute walk) you can see the prince’s palace and there are more smaller shops in this area
- Other things to see: the Exotic Gardens, Sculpture path, Rose garden, Shopping center le metrople, and St Martin garden
Eats
- Bring your lunch unless you want to drop $100, or just pop into a grocery store
Transportation
- I took the bus to Eze and Monaco from Nice, but there are also trains
- Eze is only walking
- I just walked around Monaco, but there are buses
